Submit competition questions to info@blackhawkhills.com.  BHRC will answer any questions submitted before October 10, 2025.  Responses will be posted here as questions are received.

Question 1: Are teams of multiple individuals (i.e., not a company, but a group of 2-3 independent designers) allowed to make submissions to this competition?

• Response: Multiple individuals, multiple firms, or both may work together to submit a design.

Question 2: I wanted to confirm whether submissions can be made individually, as part of a group/team, or if both options are allowed.  Could you please clarify the participation format?

• Response: Both options are allowed.

Question 3: Are rendering plug-in softwares [not labeled generative AI] acceptable? 

• Response: BHRC does not necessarily consider applying textures to, using filters on, or creating 3D renderings of original design work to be problematic.  We do suggest including an explanation of how an illustration was created as part of your narrative. 

Question 4: Are there any limitations to the number of sheets for the concept-level illustrations?

• Response: There are no limitations, although please use discretion so as not to overwhelm reviewers.

Question 5: Are there any size specifications for the concept-level illustrations?

• Response: Sheets (including illustrations) should not exceed 24" x 36".

Question 6: For the concept-level illustrations, are you envisioning individual plan, elevation, etc. sheets, or display board layouts presenting the project as a whole?

• Response: Sheets are ideal (summary sheets may be included).
