This week, we were able to take time to highlight one student from each crew who has been recognized for demonstrating character traits that align with our seven guiding principles. I am so proud of the four students for shining bright amongst our student body. See below for our award winners and a brief description of their highlights.
We also recognized our first-ever Golden Paw award. This award is given to one teacher per semester for leaving a "Pawsitive" impact on our school community. We are blessed with so many amazing teachers. This semester's award winner goes to Mrs. Lorna Jones.
We have made it to the end of the first quarter! The first quarter progress reports will be available on Monday, the 20th. Remember, we report final transcript grades by semesters. Final grades for this first semester are right before Christmas break.
Thank you for praying for us! We greatly appreciate your partnership.
Parents, here is a link to all the details about our trip to the Wilds Nov 5-7. There is a waiver at the bottom of the link that will need to be signed in order for all students to attend. Cost is included in tuition.
Our curriculum comes with a great resource that you may want to take advantage of! After School Help houses instructional videos and concept practice that may help your student study and review at home! Please take advantage of this excellent resource!
Study hall students have been asked to start bringing any outside assigned reading books to class on Wednesdays. Since outside reading is assigned at all grade levels in the middle school, we would like to offer this as a more structured option for students who do not already have plans to study ahead or do not need to complete makeup work. Students who need to pursue other academic endeavors during this time are welcome to do so.
On Thursday, Mr. McCrum revealed a brand-new award for teachers in the Middle School-the Golden Paw. The trophy features a lion's paw print: a symbol of strength, courage, and a lasting imprint. Just like that fossilized paw, an impactful teacher leaves a mark on their students that lasts a lifetime- a truly "pawsitive" impression.
This semester's award is presented to Mrs. Lorna Jones - 7th Grade History.
The annual Middle School Family Fun Night will be October 24 this year from 5:30-8:30 at the Activity Center. We are delighted to feature BJU's Culinary Kitchen for dinner, serving BBQ, beans, slaw, and mac 'n' cheese. The cost will be $6 per person this year. (GF will be an option for most items.)
Please RSVP by October 17 at 3:30 pm by sending in your dinner money and total head count in the comment section of your preferred payment method:

It is our pleasure to recognize students from each Crew each quarter who have exemplified the BJA Guiding Principles in their lives and actions.
We are proud of these students and their everyday leadership in our school. Please join us in congratulating them.
Try-outs for girls' and guys' basketball (6-8 grade) are on October 27 and 28 with a possible extra time on October 30 as needed. Students trying out will need to have completed all athletic forms (see helpful links) and have on file or bring with them a sports physical. Students should come to the gym after school. Try-outs will end at 5:00 pm each day.
Our 8th Grade US History classes are proud to present this year's Veteran's Day program: The Home of the Brave.
Join us at 8:10 am on Tuesday, November 11 in the Academy Auditorium.
On Friday, Nov. 7, our 6th and 7th grades will study abroad to enhance their core subjects through hands-on learning.
6th grade will be traveling to the World of Energy in Seneca, SC. The buses will depart at 8:30 am and return by 3:10 pm. Lunch will be included for each student. Students will need to arrive by 8:00 am as usual.
Spirit shirts/BJA hoodies and jeans or athletic pants are appropriate. Athletic shorts will not be an option for this trip. Students should wear comfortable shoes for a mini hike. No snack will be needed for the trip.
7th grade will be learning at Discovery Place in Charlotte, NC. The buses will depart at 7:45 am and return to school by 3:45 pm. Lunch will be included for each student.
Spirit shirts/BJA hoodies and jeans or athletic pants are appropriate. Athletic shorts are not an option for this trip. Please have your 7th grader to school that morning no later than 7:30 am for check-in. No snack will be needed for the trip.
We are happy to have a limited number of parents accompany our students on the trips. Parents will be in a service role assisting the small group teacher lead. Parents will need to provide their own transportation and meet at the locations.
As a day that is considered part of our curriculum, all school rules apply to technology, etc.
For more information, students with allergies, accompanying the trips, or questions, email Sarah Walters.
Reminder: All students in the Middle School are required to be in LE tops and bottoms. Boys are required to wear collared shirts only for Middle School. To purchase the correct items, add Bob Jones in the LE website as your school, and choose your child's grade to shop! BJA Spirit Shirts are reserved for Fridays only and must have BJA somewhere on the shirt. If you have any questions about uniforms, please reach out to Sarah Walters. (swalters@bobjonesacademy.net)
We have accumulated many unclaimed items here at the Middle School on our lost and found racks. Each week, pictures of the items are dropped into a spreadsheet for parents to view and claim. (Please do not delete photos as you claim items, or we will lose track of what is what.) After four weeks, any unclaimed items will be donated. The link can always be found under the Helpful Links tab. It is also linked here: Lost and Found
If it is hard to access the sheet to add names, feel free to email: Truc Sulaiman
