Theme Comparison Project: (Completed Feb. 22, 2019)

Supplies due in class for start of project work on TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 19th!

Theme Comparison Presentation

Students will choose two stories from literature to present and compare for themes. There is a visual component and a speaking component to this project.

• Visual Component- This will be a visual representation of both stories, including but not limited to:
  • Pictures from or representing the stories being compared
  • Text excerpts from each story
  • Photos of story authors
  • Pictures representing themes being compared

• Speaking component- Students will deliver a 2-4 minute presentation to the class with the following requirements:
  • Short summary of each story
  • Presentation of alike themes
  • Description of how stories are similar and/or different, but still convey the same themes

Supplies Needed:

• One large poster board (No tri-fold boards, please)
• Printed pictures for visual component (Can be hand drawn). All photos/pictures must be in color, whether printed or drawn.
• Any writing utensils student wishes to use beyond the markers and crayons that we have in class.
• Any other supplies student wishes to add to visual presentation

Students will have 2 days (Tuesday and Wednesday) to work on these presentations in our class. If they do not finish in those 2 days, the poster board will come home with them on Wednesday to be finished and be due back on student's presentation date. Presentation dates will be assigned on Tuesday. (These will be either Thursday or Friday, Feb. 21st and 22nd.)
