A teacher’s professional responsibilities at the BIS Early Years and Infants, and Junior Primary Campuses are to:
Ensure they understand and deliver the principles of the school’s Mission Statement
Ensure that there is a learning focus in all lessons
Use the agreed planning formats to plan and prepare activities which are appropriate to the learning needs of all pupils
Create and maintain a stimulating learning environment, which includes clearly labelled resources, quality displays and organised learning areas
Teach the basic skills to encourage independent learning
Record children’s progress using appropriate formats and use these as evidence when contributing to oral and written assessments and reports
Organise and lead extra curricular clubs
Contribute to areas of curriculum development
Attend INSET, staff meetings and other training as requested by the HOC / Principal
Attend performances, concerts, sporting activities etc. when necessary
Communicate and consult with parents
Ensure the classroom, playground and other areas around school are safe and tidy
Establish and enforce school policies and guidelines for behaviour and standards of dress. Teachers are expected to present a good role model to others in the school.
Supervise playtimes, lunchtimes etc. as assigned.
Teachers may be required to perform other relevant duties from time to time as requested by the HOC or Principal.
