Series of mental health talks

The first day of a series of talks and activities for mental health was facilitated by the BISU research and extension heads, Dr. Lloyd Lloyd Libot Tejano and Dr. Deanne Cameren Evangelista, as well as Prof. Juliet Rellita, the very active CTE coordinator. It was attended by the enthusiastic faculty members of Totolan Elementary School, spearheaded by their principal, Dr. Alith Luzon. Prof. Favio Jamero and Prof. Fedirico Ticong both spoke on important topics. The participants enjoyed the talks, and the topics were clearly instilled on their minds.

The second day of the series of Mental Health Talks for Totolan Elementary School Teachers/Community was held on June 18, 2022, at Bolod Beach Resort in Panglao, Bohol. There were 37 participants from the Totolan Elementary School Communiy. The session began with an opening prayer, followed by a discussion of the topic "Overcoming Stress and Anxiety," with the following objectives: 1) compare stress and anxiety, 2) identify the common causes and signs of stress and anxiety, and 3) implement some ways to overcome stress and anxiety. Dr. Fritzie D. Dayot and Dr. Jo-ann S. Ingking gave the talk. (CTE Instructors). Dr. Ritchie Mar Ugsod and Prof. Norielou Pinolad facilitated the enjoyable activities for the participants.

The afternoon session included a team-building activity designed by selected faculty members from the College of Teacher Education for the Totolan Elementary School teachers.

The planned activities were in the form of games designed to improve each member's leadership skills and collaborative spirit. The games also aimed to boost participants' morale in terms of confidence and optimism in overcoming the challenges presented. The group came to the excellent conclusion that a team that works well together is more effective, productive, and successful. The activities were led by CTE Faculty members Dr. Girlie Valeroso and Dr. Ma. Professors Corazon R. Tatad, Dr. Rosemarie Galbo, Prof. Joann Talo, and Prof. Elmer Saligumba.
