HELLO Mrs.Overbeck!
Mrs.Overbeck is one of our new teachers here at Horizon Middle School. She has been teaching for 15 years overall. She taught 9 years of 6th grade, 1 year of 4th grade, 1 year as a assistant principal, and 3 years as an instructional coach in Lincoln. She now teaches 7th grade math at Horizon. What she enjoys most about teaching is the kids...100% the kids. The best part is when the kids have their uh-huh moment, and to watch their faces when they finally get it. She says "It makes you feel good because you have helped them get that far". We asked her the question would you rather have your old jobs or keep teaching this job and her response was "this is my dream job. I would definitely stay here. I actually told my kids at the beginning of the year that in college I always wanted to become a middle school math teacher and so here I am. This is my dream".

HELLO Mrs. Thompson!
Mrs. Thompson is also one of our newest teachers here at Horizon Middle School! She started teaching just this August 2018, she has taught English for 11 years at Napoleon. So what's her favorite thing about teaching? Can you guess? That's right! Kids! But before she became a teacher, she has been to a lot of jobs before, but her favorite job so far was karaoke host. She also has been an apartment building management, managed subways, sold shoes at Herbergers in high school, sold ladies clothes for a long time, and she also tried selling advertising. Even though shes done all of those jobs her favorite over all is teaching. She loves being a teacher. She loves English but she's having fun trying something new.
