Have you ever walked into the gymnastics gym in Bismarck to see everyone having fun and working hard, but also being overwhelmed by the disgusting smell of sweat and how crowded it is in the gym. Well the place to go is the Bismarck Gymnastics academy.

When starting gymnastics young, you can go to Bismarck Gymnastics academy. But, as you get older and start going into middle and high school you can start to compete and practice with the Century gymnastics team. Here is the roster for the Century Gymnastics team: Kendra H., Anika J., Alli W., Teah S., Hope S., Hallie J., Aleah P., Kate J., Kamri H., & Brynlie T.. There was recently a meet in Fargo North Dakota that the Century girls attended. The overall score for the team was 138.875 which got them into 6th place. There were also two people who competed in all around Teah Schulte who scored 31.550 and Hope Stein who scored 30.225. We interviewed a couple players from the gymnastics team and this is what they said, the first interview was Kendra Hirschkorn, 8th grader at Horizon. We asked her 5 questions and here is her response, She really likes gymnastics because it’s fun and she loves to meet new people and make new friends as well as compete. One of her goals for the future is to compete throughout high school. One of her favorite things about the sport is competing and winning as well as traveling. A normal day of practice for Kendra is lots of conditioning like abs, arms, legs, etc. and going through rotations. The second person we interviewed was Brynlie Thueson, 8th grader at Horizon. She said that she loves gymnastics because it helps her stay fit and she can do cool tricks that other people can’t. Her goals for the future are to get one win under her belt and to get a twist in her routine. If she succeeds in her goals then she would like to keep moving forward with gymnastics into college. Brynlie’s favorite thing about the sport is that it challenges her and how she feels accomplished when she gets a new skill. The sport also helps her to become more responsible with time management. Brynlie’s normal day of practice is conditioning, rotations, and falling on her face a lot.

Some of the upcoming meets are Saturday Dec. 8th in Bismarck ND, Friday Dec. 14th in Valley City ND, & Friday Dec. 21st in Mandan ND.

Even if you can't stand the disgusting smell of sweat it is still worth it to go and watch gymnastics.
