Century Boys Swimming

On November 26, the Century boys swim team hopped into the pool for the first time since March. In an interview with Beau Zander (Century Swimmer) he is very "excited" for the season to begin. His goal for the season is to break the century record for the 100 meter breaststroke. They swim up to 3,000 yards aside from 5 minute warm up and cool down. On top of that they have morning practices at 5:30 am on Tuesday's and Thursday's, along with dryland training at Sanford Power on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday's. All of this is to try to start another state championship winning streak that was broken last year by Minot to break their 5 year winning streak. Hopes are high though for the team through their "team camaraderie" and "brotherhood" among the team says Kyle Johnson (Century Swimmer). And even though they lost 4 seniors this year, there is still young blood coming to the team through several eighth graders coming to Century next year. "I want to swim all the way through high school and into college." those were the words of Beau Zander who clearly is passionate about the sport and his future in it. Although the team fell inches short of the championship last year, they are a force to be reckoned with this year and have the championship trophy in their minds at every meet.
