Live Challenge
Task:
On June 8th, it is World Oceans Day. ‘The Ocean Project’ has asked your team to develop (code) a 5 minute interactive story/quiz/challenge using Scratch. World Oceans Day encourages us to change perspectives, learn, change our ways, and to celebrate the oceans. Therefore your product must:
- Encourage people to think about their plastic usage, and change their ways.
- Educate people about oceans and how we’re all connected to them.
- Highlight the importance and functions of the world’s oceans.
- Celebrate the oceans.
Success criteria:
- Evidence of research into overfishing and dangers of plastic disposal
- Evidence of planning and designing an original character and animation
- Evidence of collaboration (defined roles in your group)
- Evidence of basic programming structures including repeat, if and when.
- Evidence of using most features of Scratch including events, looks, sounds, control
- Your interactive product should run for a minimum of 3 minutes.
- The user must be able to return to the main menu
Definitions:
Product: Scratch game which meets the success criteria
Character: An original sprite created by students which can interact with other sprites/objects
Interactive: The object/character can interact with the user/player or another object
Animation: A sequence in a program where the character will move through different stages or environments
