Hello everyone! Did you know 97% of India's children are enrolled in school? That figure sounds great, however, what one forgets to question is the quality of education at these schools. India has one of the largest education systems in the world, yet we are faced with so many problems, such as the high rate of high school dropouts, the low literacy and numeracy rates, and the large inequalities (such as gender inequalities) in the education system. We need to take action, as education is the key to a better future, and the only way our goal will be achieved, is if we all take sustainable and impactful action, and leave no one behind!
We feel passionately about this topic. Education is truly the key to a better future. Living in India, we are exposed to poverty, gender discrimination and several other societal problems around us. However unfortunate that might be, another way to look at it is, that it makes us aware of the world's problems at a very young age. It makes us wonder about how if we want a better future for our generation, we need a world in which people are open-minded and are action takers!
Around two years ago, our class learned about the vicious cycle of poverty. This is the unfortunate cycle, which happens when someone falls into debt and poverty, thus resulting in several generations suffering. When one is born into a poor family, their parents are unable to afford suitable facilities for them. They are usually faced with malnutrition, aren't very healthy but worst they get a low-quality education, or don't even get an education at all! This would most probably result in them not getting a decent paying job in the future, or not even getting a job at all. Thus they remain in poverty, and once they give birth to their children, they will face this unfortunate cycle as well. The way it can be broken however is as you guessed, it's by getting a Quality Education!
