With a partner, you will explain the process of comparing and ordering a set of rational numbers. Choose one of the number sets from the review and place the numbers in order from greatest to least or least to greatest as directed.
As you explain your answers be sure you are explaining out loud any of the following rules that you come across:
* All negative numbers should be grouped together
* All positive numbers should be grouped together
* If there is a zero it should separate negatives and positives
* The bigger the negative the smaller its value
* Keep numbers in their original form
* Use number lines to aid in ordering numbers (vertical number lines when ordering temperatures)
* Memorize common fractions and decimal equivalents
Create your video using the whiteboard tool or you can draw it on paper and record the video of your paper.
You and your partner will alternate numbers and then come to an agreement over the order of your numbers.
Afterward, watch 2 other group's responses.
Students will practice calculating finding greatest common factors using whiteboards, Canvas Quizzes, and a Pixel Art activity to immediately check their answers.
Full lesson on the coordinate plane, plotting points, and vocabulary. Includes individual handouts, group activity, independent practice, whole class discussion, and gamified activity.
Canva card sort with algebra tiles. Students asked to sort the tiles, write the expression, solve the one step equation, and provide an explanation of the process.
