Welcome to the Zoo Research Station at our Zoo Miami Campus. This campus is comprised of a total of 10 learning spaces including state-of-the-art, graduate-level, university grade laboratories; an administrative suite; restroom facilities; and two Wi-Fi enabled outdoor learning spaces. This campus provides full service breakfast and lunch meal services to complement the service provided at our Richmond Campus. The campus is entirely planted with native plant species to highlight our focus on conservation biology.

Our Genetics Laboratory houses our DNA Sequencer, our array of thermal cyclers, DNA extraction equipment, heaters, mixers, vortexers, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) hoods, ultra-low -80 deg freezers, digital micro-pipette banks, and more. The entire laboratory is modular in design with mobile collaborative tables and pull-down electrical outlets mounted on the lab ceiling for increased adaptability when conducting experiments/research.

Our Zoology Lab is home to our collection of both living and preserved animal specimen. The lab boasts the latest in microscopy equipment as well as a portion of our wide array of skeletal biofacts. The room also doubles as our microbiology laboratory with network-enabled incubators and laminar flow hood.

One of the more eccentric rooms on the campus, our Biology Lab is a creative space meant to stimulate a passion for the biological sciences. This room also doubles as the Marine Science Lab with a total of six student marine micro-tanks that complement the four 150 gallon tanks in our Saltwater Learning Lab at the Richmond Campus.

The Analytical Lab houses some of the most sophisticated analytical equipment at this campus. With access to instruments such as a High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph, a Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer, a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer, a Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectrometer, UV-Vis Spectrometer, Lyophilizers, Rotovaps, ELISA plate Readers/Loaders, and advanced robotic sample automation equipment, this laboratory can rival those found in Research Universities throughout the country.

Although simple, this room serves as the hub of the Research Station at our Zoo Miami Campus. Comprehensive administrative and student services are provided from this open-format space which also houses the second half of the campuses skeletal biofacts.
