Gianna Scarantino is an inaugural Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) student at Binghamton University in Upstate New York, with professional interests in sports medicine, mental performance, mental health, and emerging non-traditional practice areas within occupational therapy.
Gianna is passionate about advocating for occupational therapy’s role in supporting athletes through holistic, occupation-centered approaches that address performance, routines, recovery, emotional regulation, resilience, and overall well-being. She is especially interested in expanding awareness of occupational therapy’s value within non-traditional and interdisciplinary sports performance settings. Through educational advocacy and evidence-informed practice, Gianna hopes to continue contributing to the growth and recognition of occupational therapy within sports and performance settings.
