Many people who go vegan do it for the animals. However, what if those people, by trying to help animals, inadvertently harmed themselves in the process? Is a vegan diet good for you?
BBC News says, “The vegan diet is generally considered higher in fiber and lower in cholesterol, protein, calcium, and salt than an omnivorous diet.” What does this mean, exactly? Mayo Clinic says this about fiber, “maintain a healthy weight and lower your risk of diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer.” So, fiber is great for your body. Nevertheless, is an extra bit of fiber that can be obtained even with an omnivorous one worth missing out on cholesterol, protein, calcium, and salt?
According to numerous studies and numerous sources, calcium helps build strong bones. While not essential, calcium is vital for a healthier lifestyle because who wants broken bones?
The primary health chemical that affects health in salt is sodium. So, what is up with sodium? The Mayo Clinic says, “When sodium is low, the kidneys hold on to it. When sodium is high, the kidneys release some in urine.
If the kidneys cannot remove enough sodium, it builds up in the blood. Sodium attracts and holds water, so the blood volume rises. Cholesterol is a complicated subject. The difference between “good” and “bad” cholesterol comes from the density of lipoproteins. To boil it down, low density is considered “bad,” and high density is considered “good.” Low-density lipoproteins (LDL) are considered harmful because they promote inflammation and some other conditions when oxidized. That is not good.
Nevertheless, at the same time, LDLs are a necessary evil. LDLs are there for a reason, and a good reason at that. LDLs, by their very nature, are lighter and faster than their denser counterparts. LDL can travel much faster to deliver cholesterol to a cell than high-density lipoproteins. So, high-density cholesterol is excellent, and low-density cholesterol is good and bad. One point for omnivores?
Lastly, protein. Protein is an essential element of any diet. It helps add amino acids to your body. Many bodybuilders use protein to help get more robust, and there is a reason for that. They help build and maintain muscle. Remember, however, that everything should be in moderation, even protein.
After all the talk about science, let us answer these questions: Is veganism good for your health? Like cholesterol, it all depends on your current health situation. Would you happen to need fiber? Try veganism. If you lack cholesterol, protein, salt, or calcium, try chowing down on a cow or two. However, that could be more satisfying. An omnivorous diet is generally better if we are going by sheer numbers. Nevertheless, could you take that with a grain of salt? Or a cow? Or a plant? Happy eating.

What on Earth is looksmaxxing? Looksmaxxing is a trend originating from TikTok, where young men trade ideas on how to be more attractive. One main component of looksmaxxing is mewing, which was named after John Mew. To be blunt, mewing is incredibly stupid. The practice involves putting your tongue on the roof of your mouth and chewing gum for fourteen hours a day, according to Business Insider. The practice promises to sharpen your jawline but is a lot of baloney, bananas, and mixed nuts. It originates from orthodontist John Mew, who came up with the technique, but its validity has been disproved by every other orthodontist worth their salt. Paul Frysh on WebMD says: "There is no serious research that suggests mewing can change the shape of your jawline or help with other issues. Experts say it is unlikely you will see any permanent change."
To bone smash, one must "obliterate their jawlines with a hammer so they could reshape their features." Please do not smash your bones. For one, it does not work. You will not see improvements in your jawline if you smash your bones. For two, it started as a joke and slowly became a part of the community. It is hard to know if people.
Looksmaxxing can, shockingly, be worse for your self-image and self-esteem than just not bothering. Looksmaxers, being in the looking good business, will scrutinize every little detail to look as good as possible. If humans could shapeshift, this would be okay, or at least better, but humans cannot shapeshift. Say you go on to a looksmaxer and ask what you can do to improve yourself. Self-improvement is always significant, right?
