Your Skin Can Win: Ten Skincare Tips for Glowy Skin
By Siena Goldman
Are you having trouble with your confidence? Do you feel like your skin will never go back to the baby-soft glow it once was? Fear not because your hope should not diminish just yet. These ten skincare tips will leave your skin and you feeling glowy, clear, and confident.
Tip Number One: Cleansing Day and Night
Your body is up and about all day, working and doing everything so that you can live. That involves getting dirty, especially on your face. Bacteria can build up, clogging your pores and leaving you with a plethora of pimples. This is why you should use a good, steady cleanser, typically from a drugstore. If you want to get even better results, you can even use it in the shower, which allows the cleanser and heat from the water to mix, giving you empty pores and dewy skin. It is not completely necessary to wash your face with a cleanser in the morning, but you should if you want an extra elevation in your skincare routine. Personal favorites of mine are PanOxyl, CeraVe, and The Ordinary.
Tip Number Two: Sunscreen Daily
If you are spending a great deal of time outside, you are likely to be exposing your face to some good Vitamin D. However, the sun can leave you with little blemishes called sun spots, which are small yet not pretty to look at. To prevent this, you can use sunscreen every morning before your day. Not only does it prevent sun spots, but there are so many different sunscreens that can fit your skin and preferences. Tinted sunscreen is an excellent substitute for foundation or concealer, and most come with a glow factor and helpful minerals. There is even invisible sunscreen if you don’t like how the white film some sunscreens leave looks on you, and it usually comes with equal minerals. Some good brands are SuperGoop, La Roche-Posay, and Neutrogena.
Tip Number Three: Moisturize Nightly
While your skin may be getting the washing and minerals it needs from cleansers and sunscreens, moisturizer keeps your skin from drying out from those things. Without moisturizer, your skin will become very dry, leaving your face with dead skin flakes that aren't very healthy. You should generally moisturize at night, but morning works as well, as long as it is daily. Brands that come highly recommended are Clinique, CeraVe, and Drunk Elephant.
Tip Number Four: Weekly Face Masks
A steady skincare routine is amazing, but that is not always all your skin needs. For some people, they find that face masks once or twice a week really help give their skin a boost. There are many to choose from, with all different properties, vitamins, minerals, and colors. Exfoliating face masks clear your pores, minimizing their appearance. Bubbling skin masks do a good job of getting rid of excess dirt/bacteria that cleansers may not clean. There are so many benefits to doing them, and some people find they have amazing results. If you do use face masks, you should do it once or twice per week, not every day, and only do it after cleansing your face.
Tip Number Five: Healthy Eating Habits
Your skin may be glowing, but it can also break out, and not always because of what you are doing: it can be what you are not doing. Not eating what you are supposed to be can lead to bad acne and large pores. Healthy eating habits are important when taking care of your skin, especially because of the results salt and sugar can leave. Healthy snacks can have so many benefits for your skin as well, leaving it nourished and glowing. For example, citrus fruits are usually high in vitamin C, which is great for the collagen in your skin. Avocados are known to hydrate the skin, moisturizing and replenishing it. Junk food in moderation can’t hurt you or your skin, but obviously, it is best to stay away from it on the regular. Everything is good in balance, and while you should be eating well in general, it matters when it comes to healthy skin.
As we all know, our faces are what most people notice about us when they first see us. Having an air of confidence and clear skin is definitely something that gives you a better impression, and hopefully, these tips will help you elevate and revive your skin just as they have for me.
Five of the Most Used Cosmetics 2023
By Siena Goldman
Skincare and makeup are constantly changing as innovations are created and more brands add variety to their collection. In the current world, it is hard to know what cleanser to choose out of the thousands and what lipstick works best for your skin tone out of the hundreds. That is why we have gathered five of the most used cosmetics products of 2023 so that you can have some of the best options that work for you!
Number One: CeraVe Cleanser
The top cleanser in America as of 2023 is the whole line of CeraVe cleansers. They do not have just one cleanser; they have many, including hydrating ones, renewing ones, acne control ones, foaming ones, and oil ones. The cosmetics audience has enjoyed them, even with little marketing. The variety of it mixed with the different properties offer the perfect day and night cleanser, and each one can fit your skincare routine and tendencies.
Number Two: Huda Beauty Concealer
This concealer is one of the top concealers, and the consumer market has reason to believe that. With 31% pigment and high coverage, it makes for not only under-eye concealing but also facial. They have 39 unique shades, each made to match your skin tone. The brightening and colors of each one allow women to feel confident even with under-eye bags, dark spots, acne, and blemishes.
Number Three: Rare Beauty Pinch Liquid Blush
Cosmetics users are going wild right now over popstar Selena Gomez’s brand, Rare Beauty. The product that most catches their attention, however, is the Pinch Liquid Blush. It comes in the tones Grateful (true red), Joy (muted peach), Love (terracotta), Grace (rose mauve), Faith (deep berry), Encourage (soft neutral pink), Hope (nude mauve), Believe (true mauves), and Lucky (hot pink). The audience loves the bright pigment it leaves and especially enjoys the highlight it comes with as well.
Number Four: Drunk Elephant Golding/Bronzing Drops
While great for leaving highlights glowing, this product does run on the expensive side. It usually retails for about $50.00, but many other stores sell it for cheaper than its usual price. It is worth it, according to most users, due to the excellent highlighting glow that it offers. Especially for people with paler skin, the bronzing/golding drops allow them to have a darker skin tone if that is what they want.
Number Five: Laneige Lip Sleeping Masks
Most people do not think much about the care of their lips, but they are essential. Your makeup look could be ruined with chapped, dry lips that lipstick/gloss cannot conceal. Lip sleeping masks are a bestseller when it comes to lip care, so it is not a surprise that this high-end one sold well. Consumers wear it as part of their skincare routine, keep it on through the night, and wake up with glowing moisturized lips. The different flavors to choose from this product also add interest. The flavors include Berry, Sweet Candy, Gummy Bear, Chocolate, Vanilla, and Mango, as well as seasonal ones like Pumpkin Spice, Peppermint, and Candy Apple. It can even be used as a day-to-day gloss, leaving your lips nice, shiny, and tasting good.
Overall, each of these products is helpful and uplifting in every way. Hopefully, this narrows down your decision on what to wear, what to use, and what works best for you based on everything you need.
