Human Anatomy and Physiology

HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY 

Human Anatomy and Physiology is an elective course intended for students interested in pursuing higher education in the medical or biological fields of science. This rigorous course is structured around a series of major themes beginning with the introduction of anatomy and physiology, organization of the body, anatomy and physiology of cells, histology, integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, and an introduction to the human nervous system. To enroll in this course students must have achieved a B or better in CP Biology Honors Biology, or obtain the written consent of the instructor. This class meets 6 periods a week for 1.2 credits. Each student will be evaluated in the following areas: tests, quizzes, homework, projects, laboratory reports, activities, and in-class assignments.  Quarter grades are earned using a weighted system, as per district-wide grading policy, 60% summative (quizzes and tests) and 40% formative (homework and other assignments). Final grades are calculated by averaging all four quarter grades.
