CP Biology

COLLEGE PREP BIOLOGY

CP BIOLOGY is structured around a series of major themes: basic life functions, cellular anatomy and physiology, genetic continuity, change of organisms over time, and diversity of life. These themes are taught around a core of science as investigation and inquiry. This course is recommended for academic students in their sophomore year planning to pursue higher education. Each student will be evaluated in the following areas: tests, quizzes, homework, projects, notebooks, laboratories, and in-class assignments.  Quarter grades are earned using a weighted system, as per district-wide grading policy; 60% summative (quizzes and tests) and 40% formative (homework and other assignments). Final grades are calculated by averaging all four quarter grades. Upon completing this course, students must take Biology Keystone Exams.
