Grading Policies
Grades for this course are weighted. This is due to the fact that some participation assignments can have a higher point value than test and writing project grades. Weighting the assignments puts the tests and writing projects at a higher value than the participation assignments.
The following categories show the following weights:
Formative Assessments - 40%
Spelling Worksheets
Wonders Grammar Assignments assigned on the Wonders Dashboard.
Summative Assessments - 60%
Quizzes
Tests
Projects
Writing Projects/Essays
Grading Methods
I use rubics heavily when grading assignments. This rubrics assess how well students are applying the current grammatical, spelling, and writing skills we are practicing. Rubrics are used on Wonders and in Google Classroom. If a rubric is digital, the student will need to show the parent their digital rubric score.
