Summer Letter

Dear 4th Grader,

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Williams.  I am so excited to be your fourth grade teacher.  I have been having a wonderful summer.  My family and I have been spending lots of time at the beach and traveling to different places.  In addition to my husband, I have three boys, ages 26, 23, and 19.  I hope you have been having fun and enjoying your summer too.  I can’t wait to hear all about it! 

Being a fourth grader is very exciting!  Your fourth grade year will be a year filled with interesting projects, challenges, activities, and opportunities to show your creativity.  Be sure to come to school with a big smile, a positive attitude, and an eagerness to learn every day. As your homeroom teacher, I will be teaching you all subjects except for science this year.  Mrs. Acosta will be your science teacher. We work very well together and it will be an easy transition to switching classes.

Please bring your school bag, lunch (if packing), and a healthy snack on the first day of school. You can also bring a filled water bottle if interested. If you choose to purchase school supplies, please refer to the “Back to School Supplies List” on the BHASD website (www.bhasd.org).  However, when viewing the school supplies list on the district website, the only supplies your child needs off of that list are glue sticks, colored pencils (erasable work best), earbuds/headphones, scissors, markers (8-10 pack of classic colors and size), pencils, and a pencil case. When purchasing a pencil case, please choose a zippered pouch; the bigger the better.  Please do not purchase a plastic or metal pencil case. You do not need to purchase any type of folder or trapper keeper. I will provide all other necessary supplies. If you are unable to purchase any of the suggested items, please let me know and I will assist in providing anything you need.
