Tick Tock

Tick, tick, tick, tick.
What was that?
They decided to put it aside, and walk out. Even outside, they could hear it.
Tick, tick, tick, tick.
It was annoying! They then decided to go get some breakfast, but they realized something.
There were no lights.
There was no light from anywhere, not electronics, not machine light, not even moonlight!
Tick, tick, tick, tick.
Not even an owl could see in this, they thought. They went to see if they could find a flashlight, and lo and behold, they have.
“Don’t do it.”
The person decided to ignore that, and turn it on anyway. When it turned on, there was nothing. Just an empty room.
Tick, tick, tick, tick.
Then, out of the corner of their eye, they saw something, and before they could see, it disappeared.
The hell was that thing? They questioned.
They needed to call somebody, to help them, but when they picked up the phone it was a dial tone.
Great, so there's a power outage, no light, I can't call anybody, and I'm not alone, well this is just great.
Tick, tick, tick, tick.
The first thing they tried to do was to stop the ticking, but before they could do that, they stepped on something.
It was a feather.
So I'm dealing with a messed up bird, this is just fantastic, they sarcastically thought.
They started to wonder, was this bird the reason everything was happening, the ticking, the voices, the lights and the power?
Tick, tick, tick, tick.
“You need to get out,” “He is after you,” “Run.”
That did it. As they tried to run, something landed in front of them. It was the bird.
The bird was horrifying. Like a big crow, with an eagle-like beak, talons, and glowing blue eyes, it looked like it was built to kill.
Before they could flee, the bird flapped its wings, and dove at them, talons first.
“SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!”
Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick.
