Meet the Krewe

Krewe Du Cypress started off as a seedling in the Aspen Challenge. Our team of 8 students at Benjamin Franklin High School went on to win the Aspen Challenge with our project, LINES. We put up tape lines at local businesses and organizations depicting the water level during Katrina and the water level if a big storm like Katrina were to hit. Our project raised awareness and led us to win Aspen Challenge and even attend the Aspen Festival. After the Aspen Challenge, our team was determined to continue our work and impact our community. Krewe Du Cypress was officially established as a nonprofit in February 2022.
