Meet your Teacher!

Welcome!

Welcome!

My name is Shannon Landgrebe. This will be my sixth year teaching and my fourth year teaching at BFCS! Prior to working at Benjamin Franklin Charter School, I taught first Grade for two years. I received my BS in Sociology from Arizona State University in 2013. In 2016 I decided to go back to school and become a teacher; I received my teaching certificate from Rio Salado College in 2018. And this past December I graduated with my Masters in Education with an emphasis in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University!

Prior to teaching I was a Division 1 college swimmer at ASU. I competed  and podiumed in the Pac 12 championships, NCAA championships, and I even swam in the 2012 Olympic Trials. Being an athlete has shaped who I am today. I hold myself to high standards as well as my students. I like to to have an open communication class where the parents and myself are team members and work together. I look forward to a wonderful year!

Education Background

Educational Philosophy

It is extremely important for students to be part of a safe and friendly learning environment. If a student feels safe and loved at school they will enjoy learning every single day. I love to learn about my students' likes and dislikes outside of school in order to help the school environment be a fun and friendly one. However, no matter how good a teacher may be, students still need that extra support and reinforcement from home. Please always look at your students work and go over any missed problems with students. This is how students, as well as ourselves, learn best. Please feel free to contact me whenever you have a question or concern.
