Academic Week 6:

Hello families,

Another reminder for tutoring, if you were remided. Tutoring begins at 7:45 a.m. If you drop them off before this time they need to remain in the office until tutoring begins.

INTO Math test corrections need to eb turned in by Friday of the week they are sent home. You get two days to make corrections and the corrected work is worth half points. If it is turned in after the two days, then it will not be graded and the initial test score will remain.

Starting next week there will be a Word Analysis paper that comes home for homework; three days a week. They are to fill in the blanks. This is to get more practice during the week for the Word Analysis tests that are on Fridays.

Best,

Ms. Landgrebe

Review Week (9/4/23 - 9/8/23):

Hello families!

Please remember that if you were invited to tutoring that it begins at 7:45 and not 7:30. Students should not be coming to our room before the scheduled start time.

Next week is PTC. Please make sure that you have marked your calendars. I look forward to meeting with you.

Best,

Ms. Landgrebe

Academic week 5:

Hello families!

Another great week complete. Moving forward we will have a scheduled test make up day due to excessive absences on Friday test days. This is to minimize the amount of students staying in at recess to complete tests. This will be every Thursday from 3-3:45pm. You need to pick your child up by 3:45 or they will be walked to Beyond the Bell and you will be charged accordingly. I will remind your child if they have make-up tests the day before, however, it is your responsibility as well to check power school and see if they have any missing tests. All tests are inputted by Wednesday, therefore this information will be in PowerSchool. Tests not completed after this scheduled make-up day will be graded as is or receive a 0%.

Additionally, for students to receive credit on their Thursday nights homework for spelling, they need to bring in their practice test. If they do not bring this in, I do not know if they completed their homework and did the words that were missed. Students have been told this every week; this needs to be brought in every Friday.

Just a reminder that Poem recitations are next week!

Best,

Ms. Landgrebe

Academic week 4:

Hello families!

I hope you are all doing well! This was the first week for test corrections. Please make sure if you are doing test corrections you are not changing the answers on the actual test. You need to use a separate sheet of paper, number it and box or circle the new answers on the separate sheet of paper. Again, please do not change the answers on the actual test. :)

Last weekend I assigned interactive lessons to your child's ED platform on Clever; this is for math. If you need your child's login credentials, please email me. You need to select assignments at the top to see the assigned assignments.

Best,

Ms. Landgrebe

Academic week 3:

Hello families!

I hope you all had a great week! Next week we will be assigning our first quarters poem! These will be assigned on Wednesday, August 16th. They will have two weeks to memorize their poem. They will recite it to the class on Wednesday, August 30th. Please let me know if your student will be absent, they will need to recite their poem before they will be absent.

Additionally, in their Wednesday folders this week they will have their first math test from Into Math curriculum. If your student has a yellow sheet stapled to the front they will have two nights to correct their work on another sheet of paper. They will need to follow all the directions that are printed on the yellow sheet. They have two nights to correct their work, therefore the corrections will be due on Friday. To help students with the new math curriculum they are able to use their math journal and a multiplication table on the test, therefore they can refer to that at home as well.

Please make sure your students are working on fact practice. This is a need for your student. With better fact fluency, your student will be able to improve their math knowledge.

Best,

Ms. Landgrebe

Academic week 2:

Hello,

Thank you all for such a great week! I know math is much different than Saxon. It will take some time to get used to! Let me know if we have any questions regarding it. The journals that have been coming home will have examples from class, therefore you may have seen your child bring it home. Please make sure that the journal is brought back to school every day so they have it for the next lesson.

For the book reports, your student needs to select a Fictional book of at least 150 pages. The books do need to be approved by me, so please have your student bring it in to me for approval by Friday, August 11th. Also, we need cereal boxes brought in. That way we can cover them in butcher paper in the classrtom. Please also have those brought to class by Friday, August 11th

Thanks!
