WISDOM
Knowledge of things that matter
Week of August 17th:
“Never mistake knowledge for wisdom. One helps you make a living; the other helps you make a life."
Sandra Carey
Wisdom through wonder means staying curious, searching for understanding, and using what we learn to make thoughtful choices.
Some ways students can show this:
Ask meaningful questions instead of accepting the first answer.
Listen carefully to other people’s ideas.
Investigate before forming an opinion.
Use evidence to explain their thinking.
Admit when they do not know something.
Learn from mistakes and try a new approach.
Notice patterns and make connections.
Consider different points of view.
Reflect on how new learning changes their thinking.
Use what they learn to make responsible choices.
