What an AMAZING week we had in 5th grade!

First, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended Parent-Teacher Conferences! ❤️ I truly enjoyed having the opportunity to sit down with each of you, celebrate your child, talk about their growth, and discuss ways we can continue working together to help them be successful.

I walked away from conferences feeling incredibly grateful. We really do have an amazing class! These students are funny, curious, hardworking, and each brings something special to our classroom. I feel very fortunate to spend my days learning and laughing alongside them. Thank you, parents, for raising such wonderful kids and for being such supportive partners in their education!

🔬 Scientists at Work!

This week, we jumped into STATES OF MATTER! 🧊💧💨

Students explored the differences between solids, liquids, and gases and learned that matter can change from one state to another.

We were even able to see these changes happen! Students observed matter move from a solid → liquid → gas, which gave us a great opportunity to connect what we were learning in our books to something we could actually observe.

We also began discussing the Law of Conservation of Matter. Our big idea was:

Matter doesn't simply disappear!

Even when matter changes its form or state, the matter is still there. This led to some wonderful questions and conversations—and gave our fifth-grade scientists plenty to think about! 🧠🔬

🌟 Proud Teacher Moment

One of my favorite things about this class is their willingness to ask questions, participate, take chances, and learn from one another. As our science lessons continue, I am excited to give them even more opportunities to investigate, question, and discover.

Thank you again for making Parent-Teacher Conferences such a positive experience and for all you do at home. Having strong communication between school and home makes such a difference, and I appreciate your continued support!
