Book Report Instructions

For the fourth quarter, the second grade book report will be written from A nonfiction book is based on fact. Biographies, autobiographies, nature topics, historical events, and scientific topics are just a few examples of nonfiction books. 

After reading a non-fiction book at the appropriate reading level, complete the non-fiction organizer and then compose a paragraph on lined paper about the book. 

Paragraph reminders:

• Begin with a heading

• Add a title

• Indent the first sentence.

• Write in your very best handwriting.

• Begin each sentence with a capital letter and end with punctuation. 

Your paragraph should include:

1. A topic sentence.

“Penguins are birds that live in the Antarctic.”

2. Three or more complete sentences stating different facts about your topic. 

3. Concluding sentence.

“Penguins are interesting because the mom and dad stay together for life.”
