About the project

In September 2022, we were part of The Story of Us festival, a one day cultural festival at the Barnfield Theatre in Exeter, celebrating Devon’s Caribbean, Hindu and Polish communities. The festival was devised and delivered by the Encompass group with the Exeter Northcott Theatre. In the lead up to the festival, Alix Harris and Corinne Walker ran workshops with the Encompass group, to set the brief for a performance which would be presented at the festival. Curation was born, written by Corinne Walker and directed by Alix Harris. During the week leading up to the festival, Alix worked with a team of 3 performers- Shiquerra Robertson, Yasmin Gooch and Sonia Thakurdesai to stage a script in hand reading of the performance, featuring stories from members of the Encompass group.
