Briscoe Middle School students are required to select one book from the appropriate list to read over the summer and prepare a response piece to bring to school in September. They are strongly encouraged and expected to read widely over the summer -- books, magazines, and graphic novels and other materials of their own choosing.

- students entering grade 6
- students entering grades 7 or 8

You are responsible for getting your own book. Try:
- Beverly Public Library
- Local independent bookstores: Cabot St. Books & Cards, Book Shop of Beverly Farms, Annie's Book Stop
- Chain or online bookstores (you know who they are!)
- Buy used online or at the Used Book Superstore
- Borrow from a friend
