At BCTN we work to meet all students' individual learning needs. Classes can be modified for small groups or individuals, depending on how students learn best. BCTN is based out of a house, with a variety of comfortable spaces for students to be in. During free time students can relax on the own, play games with others, socialize, and more. At BCTN we have an ocean themed sensory room that students LOVE! The room is equip with a hammock, vibrating platform, weighted blanket, weighted ball, fidgets, sound machine, special lights, black out curtains, books, drawing supplies, light table with magnetics and more!
At BCTN we can provide resources for students. We have extra toiletries that are available for students. Through Willamette High School students can get a free breakfast everyday and can apply for the free lunch program. We can also help students access clothes and other resources as necessary. Some students may need additional support in accessing a food box from the mobile food pantry at Shasta Middle School. Support is also provided to students if they need to make medical appointments at the Bethel Health Center or with HOOTS (Helping Out Our Teens in Schools). HOOTS is an on site integrated health care clinic at Willamette High School. HOOTS can provide short term counseling, crisis intervention, and community referrals.
For larger supports BCTN helps make connections with outside agencies that can support students for the rest of their lives. BCTN can help students connect to and apply for Lane County Developmental Disability Services, Social Security, Vocational Rehabilitation, and more.
