BCTN can help students identify and pursue continuing education opportunities to meet their career goals.
Students who place into ABSE classes will have assistance from BCTN with scheduling (bus and classes) and homework. Students can take LCC ABSE classes and attend BCTN. Currently they are offering: Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science courses. BCTN does not provide staffing support to students in these classes. Requirements for a student to participate in the program is being independent and safe in the community (bus, street crossing, stranger awareness), passing a LCC ABSE placement test, paying a $27.00 a term fee, and acting age appropriate. LCC ABSE classes are also on a first come basis and often there is a waiting list. Continuing LCC ABSE students have priority over new students. However, new students can schedule to take a placement test and put their name on a waitlist for the next term.
For students looking to get a driver's license or permit, BCTN can help students study the DMV manual and take practice tests.
Students looking to get a Food Handler's Card can study the Food Handler’s Book and take tests with BCTN supports.
