ASSESSMENTS
Bethel Public Schools use a combination of standard and nonstandard measures to monitor our students’ learning. Teachers create curriculum-based measures to assess students’ mastery of the standards. Our teachers also use standardized measures, such as Measures of Academic Progress (MAP), to assess student learning and growth.

What are NWEA Map Assessments?
What are NWEA Map Assessments?
MAP assessments are unique in that they are adaptive tests students take on a computer that adjust for learning levels. The test becomes more difficult as students answer questions correctly and when students incorrectly answer a question, the test becomes easier.
How will the information be used?
How will the information be used?
MAP assessments are a powerful tool for monitoring student growth over time and provides information for teachers that help us to best meet the needs of all students. We have access to data that helps us determine a student’s instructional level in Reading and Math and measure academic growth throughout the school year, as well as from year to year.
