What is the BMS Premier Choir?

The BMS Premier Choir is an auditioned after school ensemble for mixed voices (Soprano, Alto, Baritone) of approximately sixty singers. This ensemble is open to any student in the school.  This ensemble sings a high-level, varied repertoire in three-part harmony. The ensembles perform in the Premier Concert in March/April, the BMS Variety Show, small-group performances for the BMS Art Show, and the National Anthem for a number of school events. The Premier Choir also competes annually at the Fantastic Festivals Adjudication Festival. They have received Platinum and First Place in the Middle School Chorus Category for the past two years. This past year, Premier Choir placed first out of 32 Middle School Mixed Choirs.

What are the goals of the ensemble?

• To study healthy vocal and ensemble techniques in a choral setting.

• To perform music in a safe learning environment.

• To studied varied and diverse repertoire created specifically for treble choirs.

• Foster an appreciation of choral music.     

When do we meet?

• Thursdays after school from 3:00-4:00 pm in the BMS Chorus room. 

• Auditions for this ensemble occur in the first month of school (September). 

Are there performances?

• Yes! The ensemble performs at a number of events, including but not limited to:

  • BMS Tiger Ball National Anthem (February/March)

  • BMS Variety Show (March)

  • BMS Pep Rallies (April)

  • BMS Premier Ensembles Concert (March/April)

  • BMS Art Show (Small Ensemble, Solo) (May)
