Sports Med/ Athletic Training

Amy Schneider, ATC, LAT

Athletic Trainer

Athletic Trainers (ATC) are in the frontline of sports medicine injuries. ATC’s are responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries, neurological injuries (concussions), as well as first aid to wounds. Athletic Trainers are also well educated in nutrition, strength and conditioning, and soft tissue massage.

Bethel High School is fortunate enough to have Amy Schneider ATC, LAT as their sports medicine provider. Amy Schneider is a BOC certified and licensed Athletic Trainer. She graduated from Ridgefield High School in 2004. She attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Medicine. While attending Sacred Heart, she covered women’s soccer, track and field, and baseball.

Amy Schneider has been at Bethel High School since 2011 providing medical coverage for all Varsity, JV and freshman sport teams. She was a part of Danbury’s Semi-Pro Hockey organization for eight years, as well as being a part of the NECBL Danbury Westerners for the past nine years. Amy is the head athletic trainer for the Danbury Hattricks hockey team. She currently resides in Bethel with her husband, their sons Cooper and Colt and their trusty dog Guinness.

Bethel High School has also partnered with Danbury Orthopedics in the attainment of team physicians who will work with our sports teams this year, and in the years to come.
