New Teachers

LEARNING-

As a new teacher to our district, we want to support you in learning and doing. As you attend professional developments, you will learn the 10 Effective Teaching Standards to ensure success in implementing best practices.

Professional Development and Relicensure Points

Over your first 5 years of teaching, you need to earn 100 relicensure points. Up to 30 of those points can come from your PLC meetings. Up to 90 of those points can come from professional development offerings of your choice. This includes the B.E.S.T. Year 1, 2, or 3 professional development offered by the district. You will be expected to implement your learning in your teaching practices and demonstrate effectiveness. Instructional coaches will support you through coaching cycles. Building level administrators will conduct observations and evaluations to monitor progress.

Teachers in the B.E.S.T. program need to enroll in the district B.E.S.T Canvas Course . This course has been created to organize and track your professional development course completion and relicensure points.
