QUEST - QUEST Tier 3

My name is Mrs. Rothrock and I am thrilled to join Liberty Corner School and Mrs. Lillia as your QUEST teacher this year! After receiving my undergraduate degree in Fine Art, I pursued a master's degree and become a teacher. I taught 4th grade for eight years before I discovered computer science and fell in love with all things STEM. QUEST and the School-wide Enrichment Model at Bernards Township is the perfect fit for me.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy traveling, reading, art, spending time with my family, and hiking or kayaking with our rescue dog, Zeus.

I look forward to getting to know all of the children and families at LCS this year.

What is Type III QUEST?

At Bernards Township, we are committed to providing an educational environment that meets the unique learning needs of every student. One of the ways we achieve this is through our Type III QUEST program. This program is designed to offer specialized enrichment opportunities that cater to the distinct interests and abilities of students who show a keen interest or aptitude in specific areas.

Selection and Focus: Students are invited to participate in the Type III QUEST based on a comprehensive assessment process that helps identify their strengths and learning preferences. This ensures that the enrichment activities we offer are well-suited to enhancing their educational experience.

Small Group Sessions: During the school year, selected students will have the opportunity to engage in small group sessions. These sessions are specifically designed to provide a more focused and intensive learning environment. Here, students can delve deeper into subjects and projects to better meet their learning needs.

How are students "identified" for Type III learning opportunities?

The identification is for Type III learning opportunities and is thorough, considering all students as part of the process. The process is designed to identify students who are in the top 5% of the grade level in terms of the three spheres of giftedness; academic ability, task commitment and creativity. Students can be nominated by parents, teachers or through their assessment scores. The process is designed so that we are unlikely to miss a qualified student.
