7th graders in STEAM learn how to build and program LEGO robots and build miniature trebuchets.Â
Using the nationally acclaimed FIRST Lego League curriculum, students build autonomous robots using the LEGO Spike system and program them using the Blockly language to complete a series of different challenges.
Using principles from Newtonian physics, students use the design thinking process to design, build, test, and revise their models of medieval trebuchets with the goal of making something capable of knocking down blocks in a simulated medieval castle wall.
