Long Term District Library Plan

In compliance with the Wisconsin Administrative Code PI 8.01(2)(h), the Berlin Area School District Libraries have created a three year library plan which uses the Future Ready Librarian Framework to plan instruction, increase student achievement, provide equitable resources to all, and be a collaborative partner in district initiatives.

Our goals will be on a three year cycle.  This rotation we have two gears of focus: 

Use of Space and Time:

Librarians will establish an inventive space and atmosphere for a dedicated makerspace area where students will engage in hands-on activities such as building, experimenting, and finding solutions to problems.  This space will foster creativity, critical thinking and collaboration among students as they explore and develop their ideas.

Collaborative Leadership:

The librarians in the Berlin Area School District will collaborate with their building teachers on at least one project per semester. Each project will utilize materials from the library and the classroom, and align with the standards based curriculum at each grade level.  Each collaborative project will be documented and reflected upon.
