Chief Science Officers

The Eastern PA region of Chief Science Officers held their very first Leadership Training Institute on October 2 & 3, 2023, at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts. This institute was facilitated by CSO International representative Jake Loundsbury and IU team members from Berks IU14, Colonial IU20, and Carbon-Lehigh IU21. 53 student Chief Science Officers learned important leadership and communication fundamentals, and worked collaboratively with other students to begin their STEM and community-based action plans. We toured the Berks Launchbox and students created prototypes for prosthetic limbs. A panel of STEM professionals visited on day 2 to tell us more about their work and careers in STEM. 

We're excited to watch their action plans come to life as they do important leadership work this year!
