Decodable Readers

The books in this collection are geared towards helping students apply their phonics knowledge.  They have minimal text, and the words are carefully chosen in order to reinforce and support specific skills.

Flyleaf Publishing

This collection of simple, decodable texts has appealing, full-color illustrations. E-books are sorted into  categories, including: emergent reader series, compound words, multisyllabic words, words with endings, and more.  Reach out to your child's classroom or reading teacher to learn which collection is a good fit.

Beyond Decodables

This is a lovely collection of decodable texts created by Boston Public Schools.  Many of the books are about animals and contain real photographs.

Read-Alongs & Read-Alouds

This collection includes books that show text while providing audible narration ("Read-alongs"), as well as a wide range of audiobooks and other digital books.  

Sora

Read-along e-books offer a different kind of reading experience to help motivate and encourage young readers. This collection, curated by BC Librarians in partnership with BC's Literacy Coordinator, includes multimedia picture books and growing reader books.

Epic!

The Epic! digital library includes a wide range of ebooks and videos.  Children will find popular series such as Fancy Nancy, Big Nate, Warriors, and National Geographic Kids.
