Learn to Read Latin, Second Edition : This textbook is readily available from a variety of online booksellers. Students should acquire a copy of this textbook before the first day of class. Students will also need access to Learn to Read Latin, Second Edition Workbook Part I and Learn to Read Latin, Second Edition Workbook Part II in order to complete the daily homework.
Students are welcome to buy the textbook in any format as long as it is the second edition. However, I highly recommend purchasing the hard-copy versions when possible. Students report that the hard-copy version of the textbook is easier to refer to while studying and completing assignments.
Information about the textbooks for Part 2 will be made available during Part 1. Students should not purchase the textbooks for Part 2 until the electives are assigned.
In Part 2, student will require access to a Latin-English dictionary and a Latin reference grammar. Students often find hard copies are easier to manage, but some reputable online resources include Logeion (dictionary) and an online version of Allen & Greenough's New Latin Grammar, generously made available by Dickinson College. If you are unsure whether a resource is appropriate, feel free to ask the director for advice.
