Here are some of changes expected this open enrollment period: 

1.  HealthSavings+ is replacing CORE and UC Health Savings Plan

• UC’s lowest-premium medical plan and you will recieve a Health Savings Account (HSA) with higher UC contributions:( $750 for individuals and $1,500 for families)

***If you do nothing, you’ll be automatically enrolled in HealthSavings+ (if eligible).

2.  Premium Adjustments

• UC is balancing premium costs more fairly across plans.

• UC will now pay about the same percentage for Kaiser HMO and UC Blue & Gold HMO.

• Plans offering more flexibility and UC provider access will cost less.

• Kaiser HMO and CORE members moving to Health Savings+ may see higher monthly premiums.

3.  Plan Administration

• Blue Shield of California will now administer HealthSavings+ and UC Care.

• About 98% of Anthem’s network providers are also in Blue Shield’s network—overall provider access increases.

• Accolade Care Advocates and Navitus remain UC partners.

4.  Dental Coverage Expanded

• Delta Dental PPO out-of-network coverage rises from 75% → 80% for some services.

• Still, in-network dentists offer the best coverage and lowest costs.

5.  Medication & Fertility Coverage

• Weight loss medications (GLP-1s) will have more limited access across all UC plans.

• Infertility benefits are expanding and becoming more affordable for Kaiser HMO and UC Blue & Gold HMO members, per state mandate.
