Add the coupling agent to your diazonium mixture.
Let mixture warm to room temperature and then heat to boiling.

The video shows two small Erlenmeyer flasks inside of beakers filled with ice water resting on the same magnetic stir plate. The flask on the left has red-orange contents, while the flask on the right has yellowish brown contents. A gloved hand adds the yellowish brown contents to the red-orange contents via pipette. Upon this addition, the red-orange contents turn a deeper red color. The now bright red flask is removed from the beaker and placed directly on the magnetic stir plate. The screen goes black except for a caption that reads: “After 10 min at room T…” When the video returns, we see a gloved hand swirling the red contents of the flask and placing the flask in a sand bath. Another black screen with the caption “2 min later…” appears, and next we see the Erlenmeyer flask being lifted out of the sand bath and swirled again. While the bright red color of the contents remains unchanged, they seem to have thickened somewhat, as they do not move as significantly when swirled. The camera pans to the temperature read out screen for the digital thermometer, which reads “149.” The video ends with a close up on the Erlenmeyer flask cooling on the lab bench. Its contents still appear bright red and relatively viscous.

Cool and isolate the product.
