Hello, I'm Daniel Oslund, a third-year Mechanical Engineering Major at UC Berkeley. I'm mainly interested in robotics and manufacturing, but enjoy anything design-oriented. I build combat robots through Combat Robotics at Berkeley, and recently joined a research lab pertaining to designing for emerging and nanoscale manufacturing! I'm also involved in my local SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) chapter!
Additionally, I tutor multiple lower division engineering course through Berkeley's CAEE (Center for Academic and Engineering Excellence), a center meant to serve underrepresented and underserved groups in engineering.
Combat robotics is a competition where robots are designed to fight one another. There's varying weight classes, ranging from 1lb to 250lbs, and a wide variety of materials to use. The primary restrictions are weight and voltage for most weight classes. I've primarily competed in 1lb and 15lbs weight classes, and eventually intend to compete in the TV show "Battlebots" under the 250lbs weight class. I have the robots I've built in the "Projects" section of this website.
