Welcome to the Nuñez Lab!

The core interest of our research is to understand the regulatory principles of the human genome. We study epigenetics - chemical modifications on our DNA that can regulate gene expression and change dynamically in disease and aging. Concurrently, we develop and employ CRISPR technologies for editing the human 'epigenome' for use in fundamental research and as potential therapeutic modalities.

Our lab applies CRISPR-based genome and epigenome editing, genomics, genetics, cell biology and biochemistry to tackle our research questions.
