Important information about application materials and deadlines can be found on this page, as well. NOTE: You may not qualify for some of these fellowships as master's students. A curated list of scholarships and fellowships that don’t require proof of U.S. citizenship. The list has general application eligibility requirements, including education level, region/state, and immigration status (e.g. DACA, TPS, in-state tuition eligibility). Only opportunities with due dates within the next 180 days are shown in the list.
The MSSE program is a collaboration program housed by the College of Chemistry and the College of Engineering. While you are not EECS students, some of these resources compiled by the EECS program (in the College of Engineering) may be useful and relevant to you in your search for funding. Please note that some resources on this page are reserved for EECS students only, so be sure to check eligibility requirements before applying.
Academic Student Employment
Academic Student Employment (ASE) positions such as Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) and Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) are some of the most common ways of funding your graduate degree at UC Berkeley. That said, there are several limiting factors for eligibility that are likely to affect MSSE students:
Most of the GSI/GSR positions take place in person on UC Berkeley's campus. You'd need to check the individual listing to determine modality.
PhD students are often prioritized in the GSI appointment process.
