Sur-Urbano Podcast

"Sur-urbano" is a podcast where we talk to leading scholars, planners and activists on Latin American cities about their work, the cities they love and how to make them better. Every episode, our host (Isabel Peñaranda), and a new co-host interview scholars of different backgrounds and disciplines. While many of our co-hosts and some of our guests are housed in UC Berkeley, just as many are found in other institutions both in the U.S. and in Latin America, weaving networks between scholars, activists, and planning practitioners across geographies and disciplines. Our conversations range from Trans-abolitionist activism in Bogotá, to the impact of land-use policies on informality, from the colonialist legacies impacting hurricane recovery in Puerto Rico to the impact of density on agglomeration economies in Mexico.

Episodes can be in English, Spanish, or Portuguese. To find out more or to co-host, reach us via Twitter at @latam_cities.
