Call for Papers

We invite submissions of workshop papers related to the development and evaluation of socially-compliant automated vehicles in mixed traffic. All accepted workshop papers will be published in the IV2023 proceedings through IEEE Xplore. Selected high-quality workshop papers can be further referred for publication in special sections of the Open Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems. The topics include but are not limited to the following:

• Social factors for developing automated vehicles

• Human-like driving and interactive decision making

• Robustness and safety of interactive prediction and motion planning

• Development of socially compliant motion prediction and control models

• Development of socially compliant decision-making for automated vehicles

• Development of socially compliant AI for automated driving in mixed traffic

• Evaluation of socially-compliant automated vehicles’ impact on safety and efficiency 

• HMIs for socially-compliant automated vehicles: interfaces that AVs can use to communicate their intentions
