What is heading?

Heading is a metal forming manufacturing process typically used to increase mass at the end of a metal billet. It is one of the most common manufacturing techniques for creating a variety of fasteners. We are a team of four mechanical engineers at Berkeley creating and prototyping a continously fed heading machine, which has the potential to increase speed and lower cost in the industry.
