Part 2: Collecting Fractions

Place test tube “2” under the column. Add 1 mL of ethyl acetate to the column, and then use air pressure from the red bulb to push this solvent through the column to the level of the sand layer. Repeat the steps above to collect fractions 3-7.

Remember to spot, develop, and analyze your TLC plates as you collect fractions!
