Luna 'Lulu' Bean Marie Remirez Izyumin was adopted from South County Tail Waggers in August 2018. A four-year-old rat terrier mix, she is a very, very good dog. She was trained by a very capable youth trainer as part of the UnChained program at the San Jose Juvenile Center. She lives in West Berkeley with me, my partner, and more toys than any one dog needs. You can see her as Miss February in the Friends of Berkeley Linguists 2019+ calendar edited by Berkeley Linguistics Professor Andrew Garrett.
Her favorite hobbies include snoozing, snuggling, destroying stuffed animals, eating peanut butter, and checking the mail. Her favorite place to be is bed, but she also enjoys spending time at the Ohlone small dog park, and long strolls off leash by the bay at Point Isabel. She knows all the dog friendly places to eat in the East Bay, but her favorite place to get food is straight from your plate.
She likes morning walks and wet food for breakfast.
Her primary research interests involve unaided dog flight: she thinks she has a real leg-up with her bat ears (which inspired her name), which could prove useful as wings themselves or in developing dog echolocation.
Luna is very loved.
